How to be yourself
Nowadays, we can hear from many sides and in different ways the words "BE YOURSELF". It can be the slogan of some popular product or an attitude of people around us. Many many people, especially young ones, try to follow these words and they try to be themselves, to find their own way. The problem is, that the most people go the outer path, what means that they try to follow those people, ideas or ways, which they can see around them and which seems to lead them to happiness, success or satisfaction. This philosophy of being yourself starts with the way you dress yourself or creating your personal image through choosing travelling destinations, doing certain sport, and ends with the perfect job where people use their talents and become examples for others… All these things are really nice and I have nothing against them. But there is one thing, no one tells you- these things can fulfil your desires and lives only for certain period of time. The truth is, that the way of your life or your preferences are not this "myself" we are looking for. They are just little reflection of your real inner essence. Being yourself will be completely satisfying only by following the inner path. What is that inner path? You can uncover your real self, when you start to do things, because you feel it and not because something can bring you later profit, success or appreciation from others. Ask yourself a question: " If I am the only person in the world, which things and activities would I do? If I have nobody else to see me, appreciate my behaviour or deeds, how would my day look like?" How would, for example, look the success or what could make me happy in such a case? Or, ask a question: "If this month is the last 30 days on the planet earth, what would I do?" This way, you can find something valuable and new. Or maybe, you can find out with surprise, that many things, which you already have ( and you are not aware of them, because they are too simple and ordinary), are for you the real source of joy and satisfaction. Or maybe you realize, that a simple act of being present and aware of the moment you experience right now, can give you the feeling of satisfaction and realization, who you really are…
